June 11, 2017: Strong competition and advancing prices for Brown mink

 

Today’s offering of Brown Classic males was nearly 100% sold under strong and widespread competition. Prices for most items fetched advancing prices compared to recent European levels. The Velvet collection was almost 90% sold at firm to slightly easier prices.

Strong interest for Black males resulted in an almost 100% selling with firm to slightly easier prices compared to recent European levels and taking the weakening of the dollar into consideration. Mahogany males were also sold to an active room with slightly easier prices.

China led the bidding throughout the day, supported by Turkey, Greece and Russia.

June 10, 2017: Advancing prices in White Mink, with strong support from the Fashion Trade

 

Saga Furs June auction continued with the sale of Silverblue females. A collection of approximately 330.000 skins was 80% sold at slightly easier prices compared to recent European levels. Silverblue Velvet females were also 80% sold while Sapphire males were nearly 100% sold at firm prices. Sapphire Velvets were over 70% sold at 10% easier prices on average. Main buyer was China with good support from the Greek, Russian and Turkish markets.

The auction then continued with White minks. A very active room competed for the classic mink collection which was 100% sold at very firm to increasing prices. The fashion industry showed strong demand for white mink. A collection of 190 000 white velvet minks was also sold at firm to slightly easier prices, compared to recent European levels.

Saga Furs’ Top lot of 100% Certified White Female Mink was bought by Polar Furs for Funtastic Furs, NY.

June 9, 2017: Saga Furs June auction continued with Blue fox and various minks

 

Sagafur second day Blue fox offering faced with some price resistance comparing with the March auction. The offering was 73 percent sold at 10 percent easier prices in US dollars compared with our March auction. China continued to dominate the Blue fox buying with good support from Europe, Korea and Russia.

The auction is attended by 560 buyers with all markets well represented. The mink auction started in a packed auction room in the afternoon. Silverblue males were almost 80 percent sold at roughly 10 percent easier prices in Euros compared with recent European levels. Sapphire males were 85% sold under very active competition at only 5 percent easier prices.

June 8, 2017: Saga Furs Auction started with Fox and Finnraccoon

 

Saga Furs June auction started with the selling of various fox and Finnraccoon. Silver fox was 100 % sold at 5 % stronger prices compared with Saga's March levels. Silver Fox was mainly purchased by the European fashion industry, Korea and Russia.

The Blue Shadow Fox offering was 70 % sold at roughly 10 % easier prices compared with their March levels, buying well spread. Blue Frost Fox was 80 % sold at firm prices mainly to Russia. Finnraccoon was 80 % sold at 10 % easier prices mainly to Europe. The 5 % weakening of the US dollar affected today’s price levels.

The Saga® Lumi Royal Top Lot of Blue Frost fox was bought by Susanna Ribak for Lars Paustian (easyfur.com).
