"Wearing sealskin and fur with pride is a gesture of respect for our land, our animals and our people "

The harvesting and use of seals and fur bearing mammals has been a way of life for Inuit for thousands of years and is one of the world’s best examples of sustainable, respectful resource use. Seals are an abundant source of nutritious meat which has sustained Inuit families for countless generations. Animals are harvested humanely and no part of the animal is wasted. The hunting and trapping of wildlife in Nunavut today provides both food and income for harvesters and their families and facilitates the sharing of cultural skills, knowledge and traditions between generations.

For the socially and environmentally conscious consumer, fur products are a natural choice. Resilient and long lasting, they are superior in both warmth and beauty to synthetic, petroleum based clothing products which are non-renewable and non-biodegradable. Wearing sealskin and fur with pride is a gesture of respect for our land, our animals and our people.
