A very important part of NAFA’s strategy in building its luxury brand is to continue to work with international fashion designers as well as the designers within the fur trade. The concept of Studio NAFA is to give designers a foundation of fur knowledge from which they can draw inspiration as well as meet the challenges of working with fur.

To properly address all levels of guests at the Studio, NAFA has developed specialized workshops that cater to a gamut of talent: students learning design; international fashion designers discovering the natural beauty of fur; fur designers experimenting with the latest production techniques; and experienced fur technicians seeking a innovative new approach for the crafting fur.

Professor Vasilis Kardasis and Professor Lorenzo Scarpi have developed unique curricula. In the case of designers and design students, Professor Kardasis’ wide-ranging experience in design make him well qualified to lead designers on the journey of exploration.

While Professor Scarpi’s vast technical experience in mink, fox and wild fur is an incredible resource for fur technicians at every level.

Summer 2012 brought together students from several countries where NAFA sponsored design competitions. Award winners from China, Korea, Italy, Greece, Hong Kong, USA and Canada came together for what many expressed as “the experience of my life time”.

Professor Kardasis took them to a world of creative thought where they had never ventured.

Fashion and fur designers from Russia, Korea, China and Mexico gathered for an advanced design and technical workshop under the tutelage of Professor Scarpi. This was a rare opportunity to discover the latest techniques of working fur as well as some of the lost or forgotten arts of fur craftsmanship.

Studio NAFA has become a meeting point for those who love diversity and fine quality furs. They come for inspiration and knowledge as well as to do research and develop new approaches for working with the variety of furs that are included in the NAFA family of brands.
